A nonprofit Gainesville-based dance group called Smooth Flava raises money for its youth programs through dance classes and events.

A new program aimed at making downtown Gainesville a safe and welcoming place for residents and visitors has been ongoing for nearly four months. The Gainesville Downtown Ambassador Program provides hospitality, safety and outreach in the Downtown Gainesville Service Area and the West University Corridor Service Area.
