The Galactic Cat Show transformed the Clay County Fairgrounds into a hub for cat lovers this weekend, drawing more than 150 cats from around the world to compete across 10 judging rings.

At the workshops, a small group of women with a love of both crafting and community come together to handmake greeting cards. The shared activity offers them an escape from their life’s concerns.

Construction of the Black Creek Restoration Project is nearly finished and promises stable water levels and renewed recreational activities for Keystone Heights. The project, which the St. Johns River Water Management District operates, has cost tens of millions of dollars and aims to recharge the Floridan Aquifer using excess water from Black Creek.

Monday’s hurricane Debby brought heavy rains to Clay County, causing water levels in Black Creek to jump more than fifteen feet in 24 hours.

Located at 4790 Victory Lane in Middleburg, the complex will see a busy second weekend.
