Gainesville police need your help identifying this armed robbery suspect

The Gainesville Police Department on Monday requested the public's help in identifying the person in the picture below.

The department says he is a suspect in an armed robbery in which he and two others targeted victims in two separate hotel rooms. Once inside, police say the man held the victims at gunpoint and tied the victims up. He then beat and struck them with a pistol itself before stealing their truck from the parking lot, according to the department.

The suspect fled in one of the victims' vehicles and later crashed it near the intersection of Southeast Williston Road and Southeast 16th Avenue. He ran into the woods, and law enforcement officers could not locate him.

Anyone with information about the suspect or incident is asked to contact detectives at 352-393-7710 or can remain anonymous by contacting the Alachua County Crime Stoppers at 352-372-7867.
