What will my ballot look like?
On a midterm election ballot, Florida voters will be asked to vote on local school board and county commission races, in addition to their representatives in the Florida House and Senate as well as the U.S. House and Senate. Voters also have a chance to elect or reelect a governor and vote on three proposed amendments.

About the Candidates
Joseph "Joe" Faherty is a Deputy Sheriff School Resource Officer who has raised $19,975.00 in campaign contributions. He has previously worked at the Department of Juvenile Justice, and before that, as a community education specialist at Eckerd Youth and Family Alternative.
Incumbent Linda Powers is a certified teacher with 39 years of educational experience. She has worked as a teacher at the elementary, middle, high school and community college levels, and she has raised $21,170.00 in total campaign contributions, of which $12,500 has been donated by Powers herself.
About the Candidates
Diana Finegan is a life-long resident of Citrus County, and she has previously sat on the boards of the Citrus County Anti-Drug Coalition, the Mid-Florida Homeless Coalition and the Citrus County Community Food Bank Advisory Board. Her background is in business and she has experience as a local business owner in Citrus County. Her campaign has raised $65,261.00 in total campaign contributions, of which Finegan has personally donated $15,000.
Paul Grogan has lived in Citrus County since 1978, and he has not campaigned or attended public gatherings up to the election. His campaign has raised $2,748.00 in total campaign contributions, of which Grogan has personally donated $2,715.

School Board Vice Chair Susan D Duval has been working in education and education administration in Hernando County since 1969. Her campaign has raised $6,655.00 in total contributions, of which Duval has personally donated $2,850.
Monty Floyd is a homeschool parent of three boys, and he has referred to Hernando County's school system as a "dumpster fire" on multiple occasions. His campaign has raised $20,102.36, of which Floyd has personally donated $2,328.

Citrus County
In Citrus County, early voting will take place from Friday, Oct. 28 to Saturday, Nov. 5 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the following locations:

How do I vote on Election Day?
On Tuesday, Nov. 8, polling places will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
To vote, bring a valid form of identification to your assigned precinct. The Hernando County Supervisor of Elections website has a precinct-finder tool to help voters know where to go on Election Day, and the Citrus County Supervisor of Elections also has a precinct-finder tool.
Can I still register to vote?
The deadline to register to vote in the state of Florida is 29 days before every election. It is too late to register for the Nov. 8 general election, but voter registration is still open for future elections for those who are:
- 18 years of age
- citizens of the United States
- legal residents of Florida
- legal residents of the county in which they will vote
