"Bohon replaces Tony Amato, who was fired last month amid complaints he made comments about his players’ eating habits, body shapes and weights. Amato lasted 11 months after signing a six-year contract to replace beloved program architect Becky Burleigh."

• Ocala Gazette: Judge issues final order in fire fee case. "The case stems from a long-running class-action suit that was filed in 2014 over the approximately $15 a month that more than 89,000 Ocala residents and businesses paid for fire services as an add-on to their Ocala utility bills."

• Mainstreet Daily News: Alford resigns from Alachua County commission. "Alachua County Commissioner Mary Alford resigned on Monday in a letter to Gov. Ron DeSantis, citing a challenging few years and recent family deaths. The resignation took effect at 10 a.m. on Monday with 30 months left on Alford’s term. Her resignation also came on the heels of a report by The Gainesville Sun that Alford lives outside her district."

• WUSF: Florida records six millionth coronavirus case. "The number of people in Florida diagnosed with the coronavirus since the start of the pandemic now stands at more than six million. The state likely crossed the threshold over the weekend. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's running total for Florida was updated on Monday to show 6,021,780 cases."

• Florida Politics: In wake of abortion rights protests, Gov. DeSantis signs bill banning residential picketing. "Protesting on people’s lawns will soon be illegal thanks to a new law signed by Gov. Ron DeSantis. ... Although the Legislature passed the anti-picketing bill (HB 1571) in March, the bill signing plays into the national conversation around the First Amendment, the right to privacy and obstruction of justice. DeSantis, a Republican, signed the measure Monday."

• Tallahassee Democrat ($): DeSantis: Florida could assume governing authority over Disney's Reedy Creek Improvement District. "Rather than have local governments 'absorb jurisdiction' over Disney's Central Florida properties when the company's special district is dissolved, Gov. Ron DeSantis said Monday that the state likely will take on that role."

• WTSP-Tampa: Anticipated changes to Florida alimony law have cases piling up. "The bill removes the court's ability to award permanent alimony. This would go into effect for both new cases, and retroactively for previous cases. Current law says permanent alimony can be awarded when one party lacks the financial ability to meet his or her needs of life following a divorce."

• Miami Herald ($): Climate change is heating up Florida. That could bring more wildfires, new report warns. "While Florida is better known for its floods from rainstorms, hurricanes and high tides, the state has a long history of wildfires. The report suggests that as the state gets hotter, it could make it more likely for more wildfires to form."

• Politico: Sentencing for Gaetz 'wingman' delayed until August. "A former Florida tax collector whose sex trafficking and public corruption case ensnared Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) had his sentence delayed yet again. Former Seminole County tax collector Joel Greenberg, once referred to as Gaetz’ 'wingman,' will likely be sentenced in August, according to an order filed on Monday by U.S. District Judge Gregory A. Presnell."
