WUFT's Morning Edition host, Glenn Richards, previews WUFT's Fanfares From Home 4th of July TV & Radio Special by speaking with some members of the Band Together project.
Band Together features 25 musicians with ties to the Gainesville music community, each performing an original song, "On the Other Side," written by Bob McPeek, a long-time Gainesville musician and producer who started Hyde & Zeke Records, Mirror Image Studio, and Heartwood Soundstage.
Joining Bob on the Zoom interview were Ken Block of Sister Hazel, Cathy DeWitt of the UF Health Shands Arts in Medicine Program, and Rob Rothschild, ace drummer with several area bands and producer of the Band Together video.
The goal of the project is to recognize healthcare workers and others who risk their lives to take care of the rest of us, and to inspire comfort and hope in our wonderful, supportive community and beyond during and after the pandemic crisis. #SongsOfComfort
