Ocala opens sandbag stations over flooding fears

The City of Ocala has begun to open sandbagging stations around the city to prepare for severe weather and flooding.

The bagging stations will be located at E.D. Croskey Center, 1510 NW Fourth St., Jervey Gantt, 2200 SE 36th Ave., Belleview Sportsplex, 6501 SE 107th St. and Martel Recycling Center, 296 SW 67th Ave.

The stations are open Wednesday from noon to 6 p.m. and Thursday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m

Ocala has extended the sandbagging stations till noon on Friday.

They are available to residents for free but are limited to 10 bags per person.

The bagging locations and hours may change as the weather changes.
