Deadly crashes close I-75 for hours

At least nine people died in early morning crashes caused by smoke and fog on I-75 near Paynes Prairie.  Other crash victims were rushed to Shands Hospital: six to the trauma center and 12 more to the emergency room.  As you can see in morning helicopter video (courtesy Orlando NBC affiliate WESH), at least four semis and six cars were involved in the pileup.  At the end of the video you can see the nearby brush fire; officials are investigating the cause of that Saturday wildfire, which may have been accidentally or intentionally set.
