The National Weather Serviceissued a tornado watch for North Florida and the Eastern Florida Panhandle until 8 p.m.
A tornado watch means conditions are favorable for tornadoes and severe thunderstorms in and around the watch areas, the report stated.
The watch includes several North Florida counties but is mainly concentrated north of a Cedar Key-Gainesville-Palatka line, according to WRUF.
Threats include hail up to a quarter size, isolated tornadoes and minor wind damage, according to WRUF.
