Two North Central Florida football teams head to 2012 state championships

The Gainesville High School football team is preparing for its shot at the Class 6A state title Friday night in Orlando. A win would be the first for the school since its 1980 title. Zach Blobner has more on GHS game.

The Hurricanes were one of two schools in the Gainesville area that made it to the state championships. Last week, the community of Trenton pulled together to support their Trenton High School Tigers, who made it to the 1A State championship game in the Citrus Bowl after an undefeated season. The Tigers didn’t win that championship game against Northview, but even making it that far helped galvanize the small town.  Florida's 89.1, WUFT-FM's Nick Swain has an inside look at how the school and town came together as they prepared to travel to the game.
