Two Arrested During Marion County Crime Spree

Two suspects were arrested Tuesday morning during a crime spree in Marion County, and a third suspect is still on the run.

Drevoisier Brown, 22, and Tameka Washington, 33, were arrested after robbing three convenience stores. They are suspected to be responsible for other burglaries in in the area, according to a release from the Marion County Sherriff’s Office.

Belleview Police officers responded to an alarm at a Sunoco gas station and Hungry Howies at 10251 S. U.S. Highway 441 to find the glass front doors shattered. While at the scene, a second alarm came in.

Officers then arrived at Kwik King at 16481 S. Highway 301 and discovered more shattered glass doors. A clear pattern led to business checks at similar stores, according to the release.

Deputy Damon Baxley responded to the Sunoco gas station at 9945 SE Highway 42 and found two suspects leaving through shattered front doors with stolen items in hand.

Deputies ran after the suspects, confronted and arrested Brown after he got into a getaway car, driven by Washington.

The third suspect who was at the convenience store was not found.

Later, deputies responded to the Caribbean Fish Market at 1150 SE County Road 484 and found a similar scene as at the other stores. It was the first location the suspects hit, according to the MCSO.

MCSO officials are confident Brown, Washington and the third accomplice are responsible for commercial burglaries in Belleview and three in south Marion County.

Brown confessed his involvement and detectives are still working on the identity of the third suspect.
