STARKE, Fla. (AP) — Authorities have arrested an Army National Guardsman after finding stolen military property in his home.
In a statement released Thursday, the Baker County Sheriff's Office announced that 27-year-old Alan Tanner Jr. was booked on burglary charges after a series of burglaries and thefts of about $150,000 in military equipment.
Investigators at the Baker County Sheriff's Office and the Charlton County Sheriff's Office in Georgia worked with the Army National Guard to track down Tanner.
Maj. Gerald Gonzalez of the Baker County Sheriff's Office says officials recovered primarily night vision gear and electronics in Tanner's home.
Tanner is an active member of the Army National Guard based at Camp Blanding.
He was booked in lieu of $315,000 bail. It isn't immediately clear if he has an attorney.
