Alachua County renames two former motels to be renovated as affordable housing

Alachua County renamed two former local motels on Tuesday as the first step toward their redevelopment as affordable housing units.

The motels were purchased by Alachua County for the purpose of converting them into permanent housing units.

The Budget Inn motel has now become Tumbling Creek’s Edge, and The Scottish Inns has become Forest View.
