Eight brand-new pickleball courts stretch across fresh concrete.

Bright lines. High fences. Nets pulled tight.

Those sights and more — all at the recently renovated Tom Petty Park in Gainesville.

And it's now open to the public.

The city opened these eight courts earlier this year, as part of a $2.6 million park renovation project that started a year ago, adding this space to a growing list of places where locals can play.
