Kids cope with chronic pain through karate class at Shands UF

Ranked in the top-50 pediatric hospitals in the country in a variety of specialties by US News & World Report, Shands Hospital for Children at UF provides the full spectrum of pediatric specialty services. The Shands Arts in Medicine program is one of these services and it has grown into one of the largest comprehensive arts in healthcare programs in existence. Florida's 89.1, WUFT-FM's Catherine Awasthi spent an afternoon in a martial arts program for kids suffering from chronic pain. She looked into how beneficial the Kids Kicking Cancer program is at Shands, for the patients, their parents and even the instructor.
