Citrus County Mosquito Control Board is working against the rainy season. Because mosquito larva need water to hatch, the end of June through October are typically the busiest months. Director of Citrus County Mosquito Control Joel Jacobson says the recent rain has increased mosquito breeding ten fold. Jacobson encourages people to empty out any vessel holding water that does not need to hold water, and kid pools and bird baths should be flushed out every three days.
