High tech company expands in Alachua

As people drive along U-S 441 in Alachua County between the cities of Gainesville and Alachua, they might see a sign for Progress Corporate Park and wonder what that is. The idea years ago, was to create high-tech businesses, taking advantage of University of Florida researchers and others, which also would translate into economic development. On Monday, one of those companies will be holding a ribbon-cutting on an expansion for one of those high tech companies. WUFT-FM’s Tom Krynski spoke with Dr. Jeffrey Tate, the president and C-E-O of NanoSonic Products, about the creation of a facility to produce cyclodextrin complexes, and what that means for the area.
