WUFT-FM Morning Edition host, Glenn Richards, recently spoke with the acclaimed, multi-talented, actor, author, and activist, Alan Cumming, who Time Magazine called one of the three most fun people in show business.

Known for his diverse roles on stage, film and television, Cumming has had award-winning performances in "Macbeth" and "Cabaret" (for which he won a Tony) and popular television roles including the mayor in Schmigadoon, host of PBS’ Masterpiece Mystery! and playing Eli Gold for seven seasons on the CBS series, The Good Wife. His film work ranges from art house to blockbuster, from cult to mainstream, but his performances are always memorable such as Nightcrawler in X2:X Men United, Mr. Elton in Emma, and Boris Grishenko in Goldeneye.

Alan Cumming is a writer, director, producer, singer, photographer, entrepreneur, activist, and author of six books including a New York Times #1 bestselling memoir. He co-owns his own New York City cabaret bar (Club Cumming), has an eponymous, award-winning fragrance, and is also a passionate activist for various civil rights, sex education and social justice causes that have earned him over forty humanitarian awards.

In August, 2019 he debuted Och and Oy!, a cabaret show with NPR’s All Things Considered host, Ari Shapiro. Cumming’s latest solo cabaret show, Alan Cumming is Not Acting His Age, will be at the Curtis M. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts in Gainesville on Sunday, April 23rd at 7:30 p.m.
