Brooksville to preserve, protect brick streets

By

The City of Brooksville wants to preserve its historic brick streets. The city council gave initial approval to an ordinance that outlines a district where the roads are or are likely to be. It also establishes criteria for rehabbing brick roads and outlines several funding sources to pay for them.

Community Development Director David Hainley says they also found a supplier of similar bricks, if repairs are needed.

A final vote on the brick streets ordinance is scheduled for the April 3rd Brooksville city council meeting.
