Hippodrome Collecting Hurricane Relief Supplies For Puerto Rico

By

The Hippodrome in downtown Gainesville is collecting donations for Puerto Rico after Hurricane Maria devastated the island.

“We wanted to use the Hippodrome’s resources to get the word out,” said Hippodrome managing director, Jessica Hurov.

They reached out to UF’s School of Infrastructure and Environment, which was collecting donations but had limited room to store them. The things the theater is asking to donate include canned goods, towels and drinking water.

The theater will be taking donations through Friday.
