As the "Occupy Wall Street" rally in Lower Manhattan moves into it's 24th day, one University of Florida professor Samuel P. Stafford says the movement starts at the heart of the nation's youth, Florida’s 89.1, WUFT-FM’s Jordan Matich reports.
What first started as a social media campaign across college campuses has now reached into U.S. cities like Chicago, Los Angeles, Boston and others across the country.
"I have followed it both as a professional in political science and also as a citizen of this country," Stafford said. "My opinion is that it is, of course, a good thing whenever the grass roots of this country—no matter what age they are—takes it upon itself first to be informed, and then to take action to either require or bring to the attention of the rest of the country the need for change."
President Obama has said demonstrators are expressing the frustrations of the American public. Stafford agrees with the president on this point.
