Ocala honors native son and 'Father of Florida's Springs'

You might know Florida’s springs just as part of growing up here. But back in the 1940s, one man’s love for swimming and underwater filmmaking helped share their beauty with the rest of the country.

His name was Newton Perry, known as the Father of Florida’s Springs

Now, his hometown is honoring that legacy in a special way. Perry is forever part of the streets of downtown Ocala.
