WUFT Morning Edition host, Glenn Richards, spoke with Lisset Díaz, singer/songwriter/guitarist for the Cuban rock band, Sweet Lizzy Project. They will be performing at Heartwood Soundstage on Wednesday, March 20th as part of Bulla Cubana, Gainesville’s award-winning Cuban Arts and Cultural Festival.
Lisset talks about being showcased on PBS in "Havana Time Machine" and "Bluegrass Underground," relocating to Nashville to complete their second album (due this summer) and record with Raul Malo and The Mavericks on an exclusive Record Store Day release (due April 13 on Mono Mundo Recordings and Y&T MUSIC), and the challenges of being a rock band in Cuba.
This is a full-length version of the excerpt that aired on WUFT on Friday, March 15, 2019.
