Gator football player faces battery charges

University of Florida tight end A.C. Leonard was arrested last night on domestic battery charges by the Gainesville Police Department. Police say that at around 8 p.m. Wednesday, Leonard was involved in an incident at the Polos apartment on Southwest Williston road where he pushed a female victim, as well as pulled her hair.

Police said Leonard refused to speak with GPD officers Wednesday night, and was taken to the Alachua County jail.  He was released from jail Thursday after his first appearance in court.
