Alachua County's Rod Smith votes Thursday

Rod Smith of Alachua, who is on the state democratic ticket as a lieutenant governor candidate emphasized the importance of early voting in downtown Gainesville today (Thursday). After speaking to a crowd of supporters at the Bo Diddley Plaza, Smith submitted his own early voting ballot to the Supervisor of Elections office. Smith, the running mate of gubernatorial candidate Alex Sink, says early voting is an easier way to cast a ballot. Early voting runs through this Saturday and the polls will be open from 9 am to 5pm. Rod Smith talked with WUFT-FM 89.1 reporter Alyssa Hayden.
