  • Ocala is removing septic tanks and wells from local properties in an effort to decrease pollution in Florida's lakes, rivers and natural springs. The city has completed 160 projects and is on pace to address 30-40 projects per week during the nine-month, $10 million program.
  • A donation of $1.5 million dollars will be given to Alachua County Public Schools over the next three years to help the district provide mental health services to four elementary schools considered to be high-needs schools. The grant, which was donated anonymously, will help provide additional mental health services to children at Lake Forest Elementary, Idylwild Elementary, Metcalfe Elementary and Rawlings Elementary.
