It’s an Earth Day event with a focus on more than just the environment. Tomorrow’s Eco Health Festival will look to how to keep kids safe around potential contamination at the Koppers Superfund site. Event Organizer Ky Gress says she wanted to bring environmental health experts right to those affected.
She says information about the remediation plan will also be available. The event will be held on the 900 block of NW 31st Avenue in Gainesville from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. tomorrow. It will feature face painting, live music and free Thai-American food for the first 500 attendees.
In depth report: Florida's 89.1, WUFT-FM's Jason Spain spoke with Event Organizer Ky Gress about this weekend's ecohealth festival and how it will continue to educate residents about the contamination at the Cabot Koppers Superfund site.
