Hernando County hoping to place 100 animals

With a few weeks remaining in Adopt a Shelter Pet Month, Hernando County Animal Services is pushing a reduced adoption fee to try to get more animals in to good homes. Animal Services Manager Leanna Teague says it is important now, more than ever, to place these dogs and cats.

She says they are hoping to adopt out 100 pets this month, and they have already place about 29.  It normally costs $65 to adopt a dog and $45 for a cat, but this month Teague says it only costs $20.  She says they generally adopt about 30 animals every month, so they are hoping these last few weeks will help them reach their large goal.
