Pit bull killed after it attached a K-9 with ACSO

Alachua County Sheriff’s Deputies fatally shot a pit bull, after the dog attacked a police K-9 while following a suspect on Sunday. Deputies were pursuing 24-year-old Tracy Kennedy when the pit bull started biting the police K-9 on the throat. ACSO Spokesman Todd Kelly says Kennedy’s is to blame for the dog’s death. The police K-9 was not severly injured because the large leather collar protected its neck. Kennedy has not been charged with any crimes related to the pit bull’s death, at this time, but Deputies have charged her with vehicle theft and resisting arrest.
