Man who fled trooper found hiding

[/caption]

A routine traffic stop on I-75 Saturday night turned into a search-and-capture mission for Florida Highway Patrol.

Trooper Michael Todd pulled over a Wolkswagen Jetta in southern Alachua County because he saw it weaving on the roadway. The driver, 35-year-old Trevor Flum of Warren, Mich., fled into adjacent woods while Todd prepared a sobriety test. Todd followed him into the woods but was struck in the head by a large tree limb, which gave Flum the time to hide deeper in the woods.

Deputies from the Alachua and Marion County Sheriff's offices were unsuccessful in finding Flum that night. Flum was found Sunday morning hiding near a Micanopy gas station. He was taken to the Alachua County Jail and charged with aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer, resisting arrest with violence, reckless driving, DUI, driving with a suspended license and escape.
