Town Hall to discuss child pornography

The Internet Crimes Against Children Coalition, Trinity Methodist Church, and the Child Advocacy Center are joining forces to help raise awareness for National Child Abuse Awareness Month. A Town Hall meeting will be held on April 4th at Trinity United Methodist church from 5:30 to 7 pm. Town Hall spokeswoman Debbie Sorgi says child pornography is a huge issue and kids should feel safe when using the computer.

“We can make Alachua County a lot safer for the kids who are here and going on the computer. The kids going on the computer to do their homework, they shouldn’t have to worry about being approached by someone who has ill intention for them,” she says.

Sorgi says their main goal for the meeting is to make sure people are aware of the numbers going on in Gainesville.
