Betty Baker Gets $30,000-Plus Pay Bump for Alachua County Manager Job

The Alachua County Board of Commissioners has accepted Acting Deputy County Manager Betty Baker's contract.

She is receiving the same base salary and benefits as the other three candidates were offered.

Her hiring gives the board more time to find a permanent candidate. She is scheduled to retire Nov. 30, 2014. Her commencement is set for July 22.

Benefits consist of the $160,000 annual salary, a retirement plan, $250,000 life insurance and a $450 monthly car allowance.

As acting deputy county manager, Baker made $129,413.65 annually.
