The Friends of the Library fall book sale attracted hundreds of customers on its opening day on Saturday. The five-day event has over 500,000 books, art pieces, vinyl records, games and other merchandise for sale through Wednesday.

“We can’t keep going,” Christensen said. “We need exposure. We need funding. People need to be aware.”

Close to 1,000 people raised more than $107,000 for Alzheimer's care, support and reasearch at the annual Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer on Saturday. As of 2020, Florida has the second largest population of Alzheimer’s patients in the country, after California.

“Ribit is going to be much more affordable than traditional ride-share because essentially, we're connecting drivers that are going the same place with passengers who want to go to that place as well,” the app developer said.

“It would break my heart, break my soul, to see this place actually develop,” one farmer said.
