Swamp Records Holds 4th Annual Showcase

WUFT-FM Morning Edition host, Glenn Richards, speaks with Stephanie Elkin, graduating senior and co-president of UF's Swamp Records. Their 4th Annual Swamp Records Showcase is on Wednesday, April 19th.

Featuring 14 different musical acts, craft vendors, local food trucks, interactive art, body painting, and dancing, Showcase 2017 takes place on three stages at Gainesville's new state-of-the-art performing and recording venue, Heartwood Soundstage (619 S Main St.) … located by the Acrosstown Repertory Theatre and Akira Wood.

  • R.LUM.R
    With almost 1 million Spotify listeners monthly, R.LUM.R is quickly making a name for himself with his impressive vocal range and smooth, rhythmic tracks. The Florida native is stopping by his home state to perform his pop-infused R&B hits, such as “Frustrated,” to headline Showcase this year.

  • Twelve'Len
    Miami native Twelve’Len, known for bringing raw emotion and lyrical passion into his music, is headlining Showcase this year. His unique blend of genres got him on Spotify’s Genre Bender playlist with his top hit “Star Dust,” now with 730K listens. You may have seen him at III Points or on Little Dragon’s “High (Remix)” track.

Glenn Richards is Operations Coordinator and local host for Morning Edition on WUFT-FM. His background includes 30+ years of radio in South Florida as an air personality, promotion director, and morning show producer (WSHE, WZTA, & WFLC). His previous education includes a Bachelor of Science in Communication from the University of Miami where he was also general manager of WVUM-FM. Upon his arrival in Gainesville in 2006 to pursue a telecommunication master’s degree at the University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications, he worked as an air personality at WRUF-FM (both Rock104 and Country 103.7 The Gator). One of Glenn’s passions is local music. Since 1990, he has produced and hosted local music programs in both South Florida and Gainesville, playing demos and independent releases from unsigned artists, many of whom went on to national prominence including: Marilyn Manson, Sister Hazel, For Squirrels, Matchbox 20, Saigon Kick, Mary Karlzen, Nil Lara, Hundred Waters, and more.
