"Know Your Farmer, Know Your Food,"....that's the topic U.S. Agriculture Deputy Secretary Kathleen Merrigan is bringing to Gainesville. Merrigan was scheduled to speak at 5:45 Thursday afternoon at the Straughn Extension Professional Development Center. Florida's 89.1, WUFT-FM's Kelsey Diaz spoke with Merrigan earlier this afernoon about the Secretary's message which ties to President Barack Obama's "Blueprint for an America built to last" initiative.
