Grant to fund rural health program

The University of Florida received $2.5 million in federal funding to further public health education programs and community health projects for rural Florida residents. UF will partner with Florida A&M University to establish the Rural South Public Health Training Center with a main focus on preventing HIV/AIDS in the rural South. UF Senior Associate Dean of Public Health Mary Peoples-Sheps says they partnered with FAMU to better serve the most underserved rural areas.
