Hawthorne man killed in airboat accident

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation commission is investigating a fatal airboat accident that occured Tuesday morning on the Rodman Reservoir in Putnam County.  According to a FWC news release, Phillip Howard Taylor, 64, of Hawthorne, was operating the airboat and was killed.  The airboat took a sharp right turn on the water and rolled over, about a half mile into the reservoir.  Taylor and Raymond Allen, 49, of New York, were both thrown into the water.  Allen received minor injuries.  The pair launched the airboat at the Orange Springs boat ramp in Marion County shortly before 8:30am Tuesday.
