The University of Florida’s School of Forest Resources and Conservation’s teaching forest, the Austin Cary Memorial Forest, was home to a little cypress log cabin, which served as a teaching center, conference center, and community center. Yesterday afternoon, that little log cabin burned to the ground. As WUFT-FM’s Brittany Wienke reports, the loss of the center is more than just the loss of a building.
