Florida Gov. Rick Scott is jetting off on a four-day trade trip to the United Kingdom.
Scott leaves Friday as part of a 44-member trade delegation that is heading to the Farnborough International Airshow. Scott will also be spending part of his time in London.
This is Scott's 12th trip abroad since he became governor in January 2011. Former Gov. Jeb Bush took 16 trade missions during his eight years in office.
Scott has defended the trips as a way to open doors for Florida-based companies seeking business abroad. The Republican governor has routinely attended annual international air shows in both France and England.
Florida, with its mix of airports and military installations, is a leading state in the nation when it comes to the aerospace industry.
