WUFT's Dana Hill interviews Debbie Garcia, the Education Director from Gentle Carousel Therapy Horses, a local organization with national reach, that takes its therapy animals, miniature horses, to hospitals and hospices, disaster areas and locations of traumatic events, to help ease suffering. The non-profit organization is run by volunteers. In this interview, Garcia and Hill discuss the organization’s mission, the logistics of traveling with animals, and how interacting with animals can help adults and children experiencing life-limiting illness, or dealing with the aftermath of violence.
