Dayanna Peek, a junior at the University of Florida, is one of several LGBTQ+ student DJs who is working to make nightlife in Gainesville and Tallahassee more inclusive and queer-friendly.

The School Board of Alachua County unanimously approved a new policy that waives school fees for students experiencing homelessness or whose families are experiencing severe loss or are unable to pay. The board's vote is considered a win for the district’s homeless and financially vulnerable students.
