The University of Florida chapter of Zeta Beta Tau is under investigation after disrespecting wounded veterans at an event in Panama City Beach. While the fraternity has suspended its actions, the university is looking into further sanctions.

I-75 has reopened after a northbound mutli-vehicle accident shut down both sides of the highway early Monday morning. The initial accident caused a second crash on the southbound lanes involving semi trucks. The roadway is being cleaned up and there are still lane closures.

The Gainesville City Commission passed an ordinance banning synthetic drug use, adding a section to the current Code of Ordinances that clarifies what a synthetic drug is and providing penalties for possession, production and sale. The sweeping ban on the drugs allows law enforcement to more easily enforce the prohibition.
