Florida Highway Patrol officials work to clean up the roadway after numerous Coca-Cola bottles spill out of a semi-truck involved in an early morning accident. This was the second accident this morning on I-75, the first occurring on the other side of the street in the northbound lanes.

The outside and center lanes are open on I-75 after two accidents at the Alachua and Marion County line, one involving two semi-trucks and a tanker truck.

According to Florida Highway Patrol press releases, the first accident occurred at 2:10 a.m., involving multiple vehicles going northbound on the interstate. Debris and vehicles blocked lanes on both sides of the interstate and the incident involved injuries.

At 5:20 a.m., the second accident took place involving the trucks. A stopped semi in the center lane was hit by another that was attempting to swerve and avoid traffic from the northbound accident.

The initial semi truck then hit a tanker coming up on an outside lane.

The semi was damaged and the accident caused Coca-Cola bottles to spill onto the road.

Around 5:30 a.m., an additional roadblock was put into place due to repaving of the center interstate lane.

The roadblocks were removed around 9 a.m., but crews are still attempting to repair the interstate and clean up debris.

The Florida Highway Patrol declined to say any more on the nature of the crash, when roadways will be open or information of any injuries, until clean-up is complete.
