Marihelen Wheeler fends off primary challenge from Charlie Jackson for county commission seat

Incumbent Alachua County Commission Chair Marihelen Wheeler defeated fellow Democrat Charlie Jackson in Tuesday’s primary to advance to the November election.

These are the unofficial results from the Alachua County Supervisor of Elections:

Ed Braddy, who served as Gainesville mayor from 2013 to 2016, was the only Republican to file to run and will appear on the November ballot against Wheeler.
