It's a presidential election year--so the State of the union speech President Obama gives tonight will be his most important so far. Peter Mayer previews the speech with Donald Baer, a former communications director in the Clinton administration.
That was Peter Mayer reporting. And students at the University of Florida agree they hope Obama will also adress those economic issues. University of Florida College Democrat President Erin Murphy says she thinks Obama will continue to discuss the American Jobs Act to advance the economy.
Sophomore Political Science major Max Fin says he is excited to see what the President has planned for the next year up until the November election.
Murphy adds she also wants to hear the President speak about going green.
With the economy surely being a key subject tonight, the speech will focus on a vision for restoring it, while trying to persuade voters to stick with him. Florida's 89.1, WUFT-FM will bring you live coverage of the state of the union at nine p.m. tonight.
