Speed restrictions on Santa Fe River

Water levels are way up on the Santa Fe River, and that's led the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission to impose some boating speed restrictions.  A 32 mile stretch of the river from O'Leno State Park to where the were Santa Fe meets the Suwannee is now under an "Idle speed, No wake zone."   Florida's 89.1 WUFT-FM's Forrest Smith talked with Conservation Commission spokeswoman Karen Parker about why that's been imposed and what the implications are.

Again, that toll free wildlife alert number Parker mentioned is 888-404-3922. The website she mentioned is www.myfwc.com
