Sunday Soirees are back at the Doris Bardon Community Cultural Center

The Doris Bardon Community Cultural Center is bringing back its Sunday Soirees.  The soirees were made popular by the late Gainesville activist Doris Bardon.  Gainesville musician Cathy Dewitt is helping to plan these weekend events, and says it's great to pay homage to someone who was such an asset to the community.

Dewitt says music was always the theme at Doris' Soirees.

She adds bringing the Sunday Soirees back to life will have a positive impact on the Gainesville Community.

This Sunday's Soiree will feature pianist Kathleen Olive with special guest guitarist Richard Smith. The event takes place at the Doris Bardon Community Cultural Center from 4 to 6 p.m.  This event is free and open to the public.
