Governor's education funding plans bring mixed reviews

Governor Rick Scott's plan to spend one-billion dollars on state public education has yet to become a favorite among Alachua County school officials.  Florida's 89.1, WUFT-FM's Jordan Matich spoke with Alachua County Education Association President Karen McCann who says Governor Scott is taking the focus away from the students.. and into the pockets of private schools.

Concerning Governor Scott's push to spend one-billion dollars on  public education, McCann says the budget for Alachua County public schools has yet to be determined for the new school year, so it is unclear at this point how Scott's proposal will affect county education.
