The 2024 hurricane season has tied records for the most hurricanes making landfall in a single season, according to a report by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

Despite evacuation orders in 16 Florida counties, some residents say they are riding out the storm, either out of convenience or because they're convinced Helene will swerve.
