Marion County Sheriff's Office Investigating Double Homicide, Home Invasion In Weirsdale

Marion County Sheriff's Office is investigating a double homicide and home invasion that occurred Sunday.

Deputies responded to a 911 call Sunday morning at 14241 SE 151 Pl Road in Weirsdale where they found 38 year-old Andy Fockler and 18 year-old Bailey Zylo dead in their home.

MCSO Public Information Director Paul Bloom confirmed on Monday that the sheriff’s office has leads on the ongoing investigation, and they have concluded that the home was broken into.

“There was something stolen,” Bloom said. “The motive at this time appears to be a home invasion robbery.”

According to Bloom, Zylo was a student at Lake Weir High School. No other details have been provided at this time.

Gail DeRousse, a neighbor of the two victims, said in her 20 years of living on that road, nothing like this has ever happened to that neighborhood.

“It’s like something out of the movies that you don’t expect,” DeRousse said. “Up in here you kind of figure it’s a safe haven.

DeRousse said this was a time for reflection because of her shock.

“You just need to live your life to the fullest because you just don’t know what’s going to happen,” DeRousse said. “Something you would never think of, and then it just pop – like right in your face.”
